Viva La Verve!

Happy Sunday!

Today I thought I would share a card that I made for Viva la Verve over on splitcoaststampers. This is a new weekly sketch challenge. Below is this weeks sketch. There is also a chance of winning verve stamps every month.

Below is the card I created. I really liked the colors I used for Kristina Werner's Color Inspiration challenge so I thought I'd use them again. I'm also loving the SU! A Rose is a Rose set. I struggled a bit of what hardware to use but decided on the 3 little brads. I enjoyed this sketch and found it was a challenge and got me thinking!!

{Ingredients}
Cardstock: Rose Red & Whisper White (All SU!)
Designer Series Paper: Pink Pirouette (SU!)
Ink: Pretty in Pink, Rose Red, Olive Green, Always Artichoke
Accessories: Queen & Co. Brads, Pop Dots

Thanks for stopping by today and be sure to check out the challenge using the link above.

New Years Resolutions & a card!

Well, a New Year & so I guess it's time to list those New Years Resolutions!! I wonder how many I will keep throughout the year!

1. My top priority is to loose weight! (isn't this one on every girls list?!)
2. Be more dedicated to my blog!
3. Enter more challenge's (within the card & scrap blogging world)
4. Try to use more of my stash before I buy more!!! (easier said than done!!)
5. Get my work published in a magazine
6. Be focused on my degree & improve my grades!
7. Spend more time with family & friends and cherish every moment

Thats about all I can think of right now but I won't bore you with more!!

Happy New Year!

Happy New Year to you all may 2009 be all that you want it to be. Well, my New Year was a working one! It kept going but steady and not too busy. I finished my nights yesterday and now feel back to the land of the awake people!! It always takes me a while to bring myself back round after working night shifts!

Hope to share some creative goodness later today.  Checkout Our Creative Corner for this weeks challenge and also some candy from the previous post!

Kristina Werner Color Inspiration Challenge #36

This is the first time I have ever played a Kristina Color inspiration challenge. I have seen what other people have done and really like their creations. As I was surfing around the blogging world I popped by today and saw that she had posted #36 so I thought while I have a spare hour I'd have a go at making a card. Below is the color inspiration.

This is what I came up with. I wasn't too sure how I was going to incorporate the old olive, but I am really pleased with how this turned out. I have had this set from SU! for a while now but hadn't even put the stamps together, so I thought I'd break it out! I must get some more pretty in pink card as I had to search through my oddments to find some!!!

{Ingredients}
Card Stock: Rose Red, Pretty in Pink, Old Olive & Whisper White (All SU!)
Ink: Old Olive, Rose Red, Pretty in Pink & Always Artichoke
Stamps: A Rose is a Rose, Sincere Salutations, Polka dot
Accessories: Rose Red Stitched Grosgrain Ribbon, Pearl Gems

Thanks for looking!

Hero Arts Weekly Challenge 'Thanks'

Good Day! Today I have a card I made yesterday for this weeks HA Challenge. One of the slants on the challenge was to incorporate a Christmas image. This I found hard as when I make 'Thanks' cards I don't tend to make them Christmasy even if I'm thanking for a Christmas gift.

Anywho! I found it a challenge but I am pleased how it turned out.

That debut butterfly is getting some serious inking at the mo! I LOVE it, it's so simple to use and seems to look great on every card!

{Ingredients}
Card Stock:  Perfect Plum, Pale Plum, Whisper White (All SU!)
Stamps: HA Design Block Stunning Snowflakes S509, HA Heart Winged Butterfly F5158, Sparkle Clear Warm Wishes CL243 and Thoughtful Messages CL184.
Ink: Colorbox Chalk Ink Ice Blue, Lavender & Pale Lavender
Accessories: SU! Whisper White & Eggplant Grosgrain Ribbon, Gems & Glitter Glue

I might get back later for another share. Hope you all have a good New Years Eve!

My Engagement Ring!

As I said I would here are some pictures of my engagement ring!  About 3 weeks before Christmas we had discussed the issue of getting engaged and Karl said well... I can't propose without a ring so this is what I went out and chose. I just had no clue as to when he had bought it or when he would propose!

On Christmas morning we opened our gifts and I was beginning to think it wasn't going to happen and maybe he would wait till the New Year.... just as i got up to answer a text message he handed me my Christmas Card and as I opened it it said inside... Will You Marry Me?! and so he got down on one knee and proposed like a true gentleman. I have never been so happy and of course I said YES!!

Thanks for stopping by today and I will have a card share tomorrow. I've been working on another submission to the HA Challenge this week. There is just not enough daylight at the mo to get good pics.

Have a nice evening!
