One Card Two Challenges!

Today I wanted to do challenges but really only have time for one card as I have loads more degree work to do. The two challenges I wanted to have a go at was this one HERE on Caardvarks, this challenge was to make a fantasy themed card. The second was HERE at CPS. They had this sketch below, so I decided to combine the two and I think it came out just nice.

I decided it was time to break the seal on the PTI supplies I bought a while back! The raspberry fizz looks striking against the blacked framed white card. Below is a close up of the raspberry fizz ink and the fairy which was stamped and embossed. I applied glitter glue to her wings for that extra glittery fantasy effect!

{Ingredients}
Card: Whisper White, Basic Black, both SU! Raspberry Fizz PTI
Ink: PTI Raspberry Fizz, Color Box Black pigment
Stamps: Fairy by Personal Impressions, Fantastic Flourishes HA
Accessories: HA Gems, Glitter Glue, Stardust Embossing Powder, Hodgepodge Hardware SU! PTI Raspberry Fizz Swiss Dots Ribbon.

Thanks for stopping by today. It's Easter here in the UK and I'm off today and Monday but at work all day Saturday and Sunday - hope it's not too busy. I may not get to post till Monday it all depends on how busy work is!

Raspberry Suite Color Inspiration Challenge No.3

Well, I made it back with my first Raspberry Suite Color Challenge - Yay!!  I've been wanting to have a go at Dawns color challenge since she started them. I just haven't been organized enough to get one done!!

Today is the day though! I've been fairly organized and even had time to squeeze in a couple episodes of Ghost Whisperer!! I'm still hooked on my series!

Below is the colors Dawn had for us this week and what a challenge. The color I found hardest was the berry as I don't have any PTI card stock yet, but if I think I have been good by the end of the week in completing some of my degree work I think I will be treating myself to some more PTI goodies!! (I'm most positively sure I will have been good ;) )

This is the card I came up with. The butterfly is stamped in the nearest match to berry I had, I think it works well though?

Just a little close up of the detail, sorry for the blur it hasn't been as sunny here today in the UK as it has been over the past week or so :(

{Ingredients}
Card Stock: Cream, Kraft, Pink Pirouette, Real Red & Cameo Coral
Ink: Real Red
Stamps: SU! Polka Dot, HA Heart Winged Butterfly
Accessories: Pink Gross Grain Ribbon (American Crafts) Pearls & Foam Pads

Thanks for stopping by, got a busy evening ahead, more degree work and I'm gonna go swimming. Hope you all have a goodie as Dawn would say!

Hero Arts Beyond Paper Challenge

Wow! What a challenge!

I haven't done a HA challenge for a while now and what a challenge to start again with! This really stretched my imagination!! I have a stash of alterable things in a box and was thinking in the shower last night what I could do. I like to make things cards etc that I can give as gifts and so I thought of my friend in Finland, Eine. She is really my mothers friend but since my mum died we have kept in contact and she kinda looks out for me. I usually send something for Easter and I know I'm cutting it fine but I have made her this frame to send today! I put a picture of Karl and I at our engagement party as she doesn't know we are engaged and it's for once a nice picture of us both!!

I used the decorative border from the clear design set Four Japanese Dolls. I've had this set for a while now and thought I'd break it out!! I just stamped it with a black ink and colored it with prisma color pencils. I added gems to some of the flowers and to the butterfly punch outs.

Just a close up of each corner and butterflies. It also shows the gems I added to some of the flowers.

{Ingredients}
Stamps: HA Four Japanese Dolls CL297
Ink: Memories Black
Accessories: Frame (Ikea) Butterfly Punch (Martha Stewart) HA Gems & Prisma Color Pencils

I like how it turned out and the colors are a lot brighter than I normally use, but hey it's to create and impact impression! LOL!

Thanks for stopping by. I may get another post in later as I'm planning on doing Dawn's Color Challenge.

Kristina's Color Inspiration 48

I've finally kick started my card making mojo :)
I feel like I've been in a dark dark place lately and all the inspiration I see is wonderful but I somehow couldn't transfer it into my own work. I decided that my mum wouldn't want me to be in this dark place and so I decided to have a bash at making a card and I decided to start with this weeks color inspiration by Kristina.

I really did find this a challenge! Usually I don't have a problem using Chocolate Chip but today I struggled with it! So I just used it minimally with the sentiment.

{Ingredients}
Card Stock: Whisper White, Chocolate Chip, Kiwi Kiss, Baja Breeze
Ink: Chocolate Chip, Kiwi Kiss, Baja Breeze
Stamps: Organic Outlines & Sentiment from Upsy Daisy
Embellishments: Kiwi Kiss Satin Ribbon, Foam Pads

I'm kinda liking the outcome of this card and feel it could be a masculine card which I always struggle with making.

I Hope to back this week with some more challenges :)

It's been a long time!

I am still alive! I know that it's been ages and I've broken my New Years resolutions, but I just don't know where the time goes.

Anyway, I'm here today and it's mainly to tell you about HERO ARTS. Their blog is ONE this week and they have lots of fun going on HERE. Pop on over and have a look. I've posted a blinkie too in the sidebar.
