Tags with Frames

Hello Again!

The challenge on Nichole's blog today is Tags with Frames, this is in celebration the Release of Heather Nicohls' new products Fillable Frames Additions 1 and Tag-its no1 stamps on the 15th Feb.

I have to say my pocket money is gonna be spent up for sure with all the fun things that are coming out this month with Papertrey!

Onto my tag! I had been playing with the Everyday Button Bits set earlier so I decided to reach for the Baby Button Bits set for this tag.

I used the Tag Sale No.3 die and die cut it using Summer Sunrise CS. Then I used the Fillable Frames No.9 die and cut it using Very Vanilla CS from SU! I stamped the co-ordinating frame in Chocolate Chip. I created a mask to stamp the butterfly image onto the frame tag and then adhered it to the larger tag using foam pads.

I paper pieced the butterfly wings with Bitty Dot DP and covered them in star dust Stickles - yummy! I added a Vintage Summer Sunrise button with pink floss to finish the butterfly.

I used the sentiment from the Baby Button Bits set inking and stamping the welcome first cleaning the stamp and stamping the second half underneath.

This tag also fits into the A Passion for Papertrey's current challenge - TAGS! So I think I'll enter this beauty into that challenge too!

I think I will squeeze in one more creation today before my hunny is home from work!

Papertrey Button Challenge

Yesterday was an AMAZING day over on Nichole's Blog! She introduced some lovely products soon to be released! The Button Boutique Stamp set looks gorgeous with endless possibilities. You can check it out HERE.

Anyway, Nichole challenged everyone to make a project using buttons in a creative way. This little number I whipped up this morning as the challenge closes in 9 minutes! Lol!

I used the sweet little cherry leaves and the 'You're so Sweet' sentiment to make this simple card.

I best be off now to link my project up if I want to be in the chance of winning!

Colour Combo No.5

I'm back again to share my FINAL card for the colour challenge at Papertrey!

This time I used Dawn's colour combo! This is a similar card to one I made last year and I will add a link later tonight!

I used the Dotti Biscotti DP for the butterflies cut using my Butterfly Dream Die. I then added a Martha Stewart butterfly punched out of Pure Poppy CS.

I added some tiny gems to the butterflies and then adhered them to the card using foam pads!

Some twill at the top left of the panel in Pure poppy, Hawaiian Shores and Raspberry fizz adds that extra POP of colour to the neutral card base!

To balance the card I added a small 'hello' sentiment to the lower right hand corner using Real Red ink from SU!

Well thats me for now! I must get on with uni work now! As I said in my post below I will edit and tidy up these posts when I get home tonight!

Thanks for stopping by!

Colour Combo No.4

Morning! So I did say last nights card was my final entry in the colour challenge, but last night whilst relaxing in the bath some ideas popped into my head and so i just had to make them before I went to bed!

I am doing these posts from uni and using their PC's which I hate but thats the only way I can access the internet! So I appologise if they look squiffy! I will edit them tonight.

This first card uses Nichole's colour combo and I decided to break out a set I have had since Nichole revisited the set recently but I had not inked up! Spiral Bouqet.

The card base is Kraft and I layered Melon Berry CS onto teracotta tile. I then stamped the stem in Chocolate Chip and the flowers in Melon Berry. I added some stickles to the flowers to make them sparkle. This matted layer is adhered to the card using foam pads.

I added some Linen Thread and a Melon Berry button to finish the panel off.

Thanks for stopping by!

Colour Combo No.3

I'm back again for my third post of the day! I have to say I have really enjoyed all of the challenges this week :) it's certainly got my creative Mojo flowing and it's given my blog some MUCH needed activity!

I chose Erin's colour combo for this card. Ocean Tides is a colour I rarely reach for, but I really enjoyed the challenge!

I kept the LO similar to my first colour combo card as I liked the tone on tone layering. Again, I reached for Turning a New Leaf, this time the largest of the leaves. I used the Ripe Avocado ink (one of my colours that works!) and stamped the leaf on cream CS. I cut the leaf out and adhered it to the card.

As Nichole mentioned CHA today it got me thinking of my trip there last year, it was an AMAZING experience. Unfortunately I won't be going this year. We decided that as I quit my job a long haul holiday would be too expensive and in July I will be design job hunting and most likely setting up my own business.

Anyway, while I was at CHA last year I had a go at the Make & Takes PTI had on offer. One of them was with Heather Nichols and she taught how to make these cute felt flowers. My addiction to making them hasn't gone!

I used Ocean Tides felt, Distressed Dots DP and a chocolate button threaded with linen thread. The dies are the beautiful blooms dies.

I added some Ocean Tides satin ribbon and a simple bow. The sentiment is from Mat Stack 2 stamp set stamped in Chocolate Chip ink from SU!

I think this will be the last of my colour combo entries as I am a lil tired and have a LONG day at uni tomorrow. Lots of work to do!

Thanks for stopping by!

Colour Combo Part 2!

I'm back with my 2nd colour combo card! This time I decided to use Lisa's combo.

I decided to make another cute 4x4" card. I just love making these lil cards, they come together so quickly with a few stamps, ribbon, ink and dies.

For this card I used Mat Stack 3 stamp set and matching die. I then stamped some Spring Rain CS with polka dots and some Pure Poppy CS with polka dots. I used the Signature Series & Butterfly Dreams dies and a Martha Stewart Punch. I added some cream pearls to finish the butterflies off.

I'm off to start cooking the tea now, but I will be back soon with Colour Combo no.3

Thanks for stopping by!

It's a Colourful Day!

Half way through the week and it's a colourful Wednesday. That's because there is a NEW challenge over on Nichole's blog for the Papertrey Anniversary. Nichole also shares some other great info about a NEW rewards system. You should go check it out HERE!

On to my card. I chose to use Jessica's colour combo to make my card.

The reason I chose this one to use first is because I've had the Soft Stone CS for a while now and not used it. I have to say it's a yummy neutral colour and I can see myself reaching for it again!

Another CAS card! I Christened my In Bloom Dies with cutting out some Raspberry Fizz CS and stamped the In Bloom flowers using Raspberry Fizz ink. I added some Hero Arts Prisma Glitter to the edges to add some yummy sparkliness!

I used a leaf from Turning a New Leaf and stamped it on some Soft Stone CS and heat embossed them with clear EP and cut them out. Still keeping my fingers X for some Turning a New Leaf Dies!

A loop of Summer Sunrise and Aqua Mist satin ribbon to the top left of the panel finishes the card off! The panel and the flowers are foam mounted.

I decided not to add a sentiment to the card so that I can use it for any occasion.

I have some uni work to do this afternoon, but I AM sure I WILL be back later with another colour combo card to share - there is a FABULOUS prize after all!

Thanks for stopping by!

Tag Your It!

Happy Tuesday!

I have scheduled a lil post while I am at uni to share another tag I made last night, you can probably tell that because of the colour combo! Yes more Plum Pudding & more Sugar Plum DP.

I didn't get to use all of the free Anniversary Tag images from Day 2 of the celebrations so I decided I'd use the one Maile had created. Such a cute pin wheel image. I have to say I am looking forward to her first stamp set reveal in March!

Again, I gave my PTI dies a work out, using Mat Stack 4 and Fillable Frames no.7 and the Limitless Layers! Defo considering purchasing the larger versions of the Limitless Layers!

A lil twist to the tag is that I decided to make the reverse of the tag more interesting. This also made the tag much more sturdier. I used Maile's tag ribbon technique again - I just love the look!

That's it for now, I'm sure I'll be back later tonight after I'm back from uni and have had some time in the studio - I'm sure there will be another exciting PTI Anniversary challenge I NEED to have a go at!

Thanks for stopping by!

Make it Monday!

Evening Everyone!

Yes I am back again! This Papertrey Anniversary is certainly keeping my blog active! So today Nichole announced the NEW 'Make it Monday' which will be a weekly challenge. You can read all about it HERE and also the current challenge which is Go-To Sentiment Cards.

I always need Thank you cards so I thought I'd make that the first of my cards that I will most likely be making for this challenge seeing as the prize is a $250 Papertrey Gift Certificate!

Purple is a colour that I use lots of then non seems to appear for ages! I do like the colour but it's not my go to colour I guess I should say. Anyhow, I chose to use the Plum Pudding CS as I was hopping around blog land and saw some of the Sugar Plum paper used. I do LOVE polka dotted paper and completely forgot I had this paper pad so out it came!

I'm loving these cute lil 4x4" cards, so quick and easy to fill the space! I'm certainly giving my PTI dies a workout this week as you can see by my creations! The Mat Stack 4 is one of my FAVES because of it's size and I am kicking myself for not ordering the Mat Stack 5 - hope it's back in stock by release!

Ok back to the card! I used an array of stamp sets to stamp the background: Mixed Messages, Mat Stack 3, Up, Up & Away, Butterfly Dreams, Communique Curve Sentiments, Mat Stack 1, Beyond Basic Borders, Round & Round and finally Giga Guidelines! I used the technique Erin showed in her video & also used Nichole's idea of stamping one sentiment in black ink to stand out.

The Mat Stack 4 is adhered to the card using foam pads and the same for the butterfly.

There is also a new challenge over on A Passion for Papertrey! So as I was making the card I thought I'd join in on the NEW challenge which is 'Tag Your It!' Tags, I love them!

I didn't want to stamp all ove the tag so I only added one sentiment but lots of butterflies instead. Really simple but I think it stands out nicely!

I used Maile's technique HERE for the tag ribbon! It just looks tidy and neat and makes attaching it to a gift super simple.

Well, I have certainly waffled on tonight! Lol! It's back to uni tomorrow and an early start. I got a bit done today but still got a way to go!

I'll be back tomorrow with a scheduled post while I am out with another TAG to share.

Thanks for stopping by - Again!

My last entry for the PTI Anniversary Tags Challenge!

Good Morning!

It's a miserable day here in the North East of the UK, so I thought I'd brighten it up a little with another 4x4 card and tag for the Anniversary Tags challenge at Papertrey.

This is my last entry for the challenge, as I must get on with some uni work today!

For this little card I chose to use Ali Miles' tag. It's a beautiful flower image with a whimsical cutesy feel to it. I love the circle frame round it.

I have to say I am not one for using digital images in my card making. I tried it a while back when Hero Arts introduced their digital images but I couldn't get them to suit my style. I guess I didn't try hard enough, as I really enjoyed using these tag images and I can see me using them again.

I think one of the reasons I have enjoyed using them so much yesterday is that they co-ordinate so nicely with the other PTI products like the dies they have!

For the card I punched out the tag twice and coloured it with my Copic Markers. With the second tag I just coloured and cut out the flower and adhered it to the first tag with foam pads to give it some dimension. I then cut out a Limitless Layer with Raspberry Fizz CS and used the circle layer to cut out the middle of the frame. I then covered the frame with Star Dust Stickles!

You can just make out that the pink limitless layer is layered onto a white layer. The tag image is adhered to the centre of the layers and then layered onto a Mat Stack 1 frame, the middle of which is cut out using Fillable Frames die no.10

A piece of RF twill and the Celebrate sentiment finishes off the card nicely.

For the tag I used Tag Sale no.1 die and Hawaiian Shores CS. The flower layer is made exactly the same as the card. I stamped the sentiment and this time used a SU! label punch and added some metallic nail accents.

I wish I had time to make a few more cards and tags using the Anniversary Tags download from PTI but they will have to wait for another day! The festivities continue today over on Nichole's Blog,so be sure to check them out! Another FAB prize is up for grabs along with a NEW feature and a challenge!

I'd best be off and do some uni work so I can work on the challenge later!

Thanks for stopping by!

PTI Anniversary Tags - Melissa's Tag

Yes, I'm back again! This is my second post for today, so be sure to check out my other post HERE

As soon as I saw Melissa's tag I knew exactly what I wanted to do with it!

Again, I kept it simple with a 4x4" card and a matching tag using Tag Sale no.2

I used Polka Dot Basics 1 to stamp the polka dots on the Spring Rain CS. I then used the cloud dies to cut out the clouds. I adhered the panel to the card base using foam pads.

I used the Limitless Layers dies again to mat the tag image which again is adhered to with foam pads.

I coloured the image using my At You Spica Glitter pens to add a lil bit of sparkle.

I can't wait to use this little ensemble to cheer someone up! I hope to be back later with yet another project!

As they say 'you have to be in it to win it!'

Thanks for stopping by - again!

PTI Anniversary Tags - Dawns Tag

Hey All!

It's the second day of the Anniversary Celebrations over on Nichole's blog HERE and today they have an AMAZING prize and a FAB download of tags designed by the PTI Stamp Designers.

I couldn't wait to get using the designs and spent a little time in the studio this afternoon. The first tag design I chose to work with was Dawn's.

I just can't resist Dawn's colour combination of Summer Sunrise and Hawaiian Shores and the pattern is lovely too.

Using Dawn's project HERE as inspiration I made a card and tag ensemble. The card is a sweet 4x4" card and the tag uses the Tag Sale no.3 die.

I started by using the tag image in Photoshop to cover the front of the 4x4" card. Then I printed 4 more of the tag images individually to use for the focal points and the smaller of the butterflies.

I was inspired by Maile's card HERE for the LO and arrangement of my elements.

Above is a close up of the focal point of the card. I used the Mat Stack 2 die and cut it in half and adhered it to the edge of the card. This also helps to hide the ribbon thats adhered to the card.

I used the Limitless Layer die to cut out the mat of Summer Sunrise, I think this makes it look like a nice Sunflower! I added a butterfly cut using the Butterfly Dreams Die and stamped it with a butterfly from the set too. The smaller butterfly is punched using a Martha Stewart punch.

The sentiment on the tag is from Fillable Frames no.9

Well, I will be back soon with another project to show you using another of the tag images!

Thanks for stopping by!

I Love You SO Much!

I'm back again with a NEW card share! I found some time to craft this afternoon whilst my first ever banana bread was baking in the oven!

I have to say both the banana bread and the card came out well! I didn't get a picture of the bread but here is a picture of the card!

I thought I would make another card for the A Passion for Papertrey challenge. I kept this one super duper simple as I think I might give this one to my Fiance for Valentines Day! It has to be a little bit slushy with hearts and all after all it is Valentines Day!

It's hard to see in the photo, but the be mine heart and lil pink outline heart are filled with glossy accents! Yummy! I used my PTI 2011 Love Tags and some Signature Greetings for this card, along with the Mat Stack 4 and Fillable Frames no.7 die.

I've also had a lil colour change on the blogo today! A change is good as a rest as they say!

I'm off to blog hop a little and then spend some quality time with my man and Mr Cat!

Thanks for stopping by!
