Raspberry Suite Color Inspiration Challenge #18

Hey! I'm sharing a card I have made for Dawn McVey's Raspberry Suite Colour Challenge. Not feeling so great today so this won't be a long post! I really enjoyed using these colours and it got me into a Christmas mood!

I decided to come Hero Arts with PTI! Two of my favourite companies! I'm loving the sentiments from the Signature Christmas and had to use one on this card!

I stamed the Hero Arts design block background using Ranger Clear Embossing Ink & added Stardust embossing powder. This adds a lovely sparkly background - yummy!

The sentiment layer section is mounted on foam pads for dimension. I added some Raspberry Fizz Saddle Stitch Ribbon for that added finishing touch along with some HA gems that I coloured using my Copics!

{Ingredients}
CS: Very Vanilla, Green Galore from SU! Kraft, Raspberry Fizz & Dark Chocolate from PTI
Stamps: Hero Arts Holly Flourish S5067, PTI Signature Christmas & Vintage Labels
Ink: Ranger Clear Embossing Ink, SU! Chocolate Chip, PTI Vintage Cream
Accessories: PTI Raspberry Fizz Saddle Stitch Ribbon, Hero Arts Gems, Copic Marker, Stardust EP, Foam Pads, Fiskars Punch

Thanks for stopping by! I hope I feel a bit better this afternoon so I can make some more cards!

I'm Back with Season's Greetings!

After a very busy week of work & college I was finally able to relax & chill out Friday to today. It's gone mega quick & it's back to work tomorrow but it won't be as busy this week. Thank goodness!!

Anyway, yesterday I spent some time with crafting friends Kerry, Claire & Sheila and we had a trip out to a couple of craft shops to stock up on supplies, have a natter & eat GOOD food! After a day of inspiration I found some time to make some cards.

This card uses one of my new PTI purchases which arrived on Friday morning, it's the Signature Christmas by Dawn McVey. The sentiments are lovely in this set :) I also made this card to fit in with this weeks Hero Arts challenge of Holiday Accessories.

I used a Hero Arts Poinsettia Art Flower & added a vintage button & twine to the centre. The holly background layer was created using the Holly Flourish from HA. I used my SU! markers to colour it in then spritzed some water over what I had coloured to moisten it agin & then stamped onto my card sock.

{Ingredients}
CS: Kraft PTI, Very Vanilla SU!
Stamps: Hero Arts Holly Flourish S5067, Signature Christmas PTI
Ink: Real Red SU!
Accessories: Poinsettia Art Flowers HA, SU! Markers, Vintage Lace, PTI Bitty Dot DP, Oval & Scalloped Oval Punch SU!, Foam Pads.

I am really pleased how this card turned out. It has a vintage feel but still looks contemporary at the same time!! I hope to share a few more creations with you all this week.

Thanks for stopping by!

SPCC Colour Combo #18

Happy Friday! Today has been a funny old day & I have been itching to get into my studio & make a card but with this & that had only got the chance this evening. Plus I couldn't pass up a signature hot choc at Starbucks this afternoon with my friend Kerry! I love spending time with Kerry as she is so FUN!!

Anyway, I thought I would make a super quick card using this weeks SPCC colour combo. I thought this was gonna prove to be too much of a challenge for me but my card came together super quick!

I broke out some new stamps that I bought in Florida this year, Hero Arts Three Designer Leaves.

I stamped the leaf design onto Very Vanilla CS using Close to Cocoa ink as I have yet to get all the In Color Inks from SU! USA. The base card is Not Quite Navy and I used the Dusty Durango as a matt for the Very Vanilla piece.

I added some paper piercing along the edge of the Dusty Durango piece for a splash of interest!
With some linen thread, flowers & brad as the finishing touches. The stamped section is adhered using foam pads.

{Ingredients}
CS: SU! Not Quite Navy, Very Vanilla, Dusty Durango
Ink: SU! Not Quite Navy, Close to Cocoa
Stamps: Hero Arts LP132 Three Designer Leaves, CL184 Thoughtful Messages
Accessories: Queen & Co. Brad, Linen Thread, Got Flowers, SU! Punch & Paper Piercer, Foam Pads

I really enjoyed this weeks colour combo from SPCC and have seen the Finally Friday Challenge over there too that I might just have a got at before I head to bed! I have work tomorrow so it's up at 6am for a 12hr shift :( and it's back to work Sunday too :(

I hope to have a card share or two over the weekend so check back just in case!! Thanks for stopping by!

Paper Piecing Congratulations!

Happy Thursday! Toady I have a card to share which I have made for a friend at work who has just got a new job & will be leaving us shortly. Though it will be sad to see her go, it's what she has wanted for a while so I made this to Congratulate her.

Anyway, this card is also for this weeks Hero Arts Challenge of Paper Piecing, you can read about it HERE. I was inspired by Kelly's card HERE to break out my 'Write Your Own' Cling stamp! I stamped it on some MM Ledger DP and paper piece the sentiment part of the stamp.

I knew I wanted flowers on this card so I used the 2 larger flowers from the Thoughtful Messages set, paper piecing the layers of the flowers.

Then I set myself a challenge!! I wanted to continue the theme of paper piecing onto my FAVE HA stamp the Heart Winged Butterfly!! This proved to be quite time consuming but I LOVE the end results. All the hearts are paper pieced!!

{Ingredients}
CS SU! Very Vanilla, Chocolate Chip & Close to Cocoa
Ink: SU! Chocolate Chip
Stamps: Hero Arts CG113 Write Your Own, CL184 Thoughtful Messages, CL272 All Occasion, F5158 Heart Winged Butterfly
Accessories: Hobby Craft Gems, Copic Markers, Basic Grey DP, MM Ledger DP, Linen Thread, Foam Pads.

I'm off to work this afternoon to do 6 hrs overtime as surprise surprise the ward is short staffed!! A few more pennies earned means a few more pennies spent on crafting goodies!! I hope to make a couple more cards tonight after work & tomorrow if time allows as I have LOADS of college work to do!!

Thanks for stopping by!

Anyway, I thought I would share another card I made for Cards for Kate. This card though I made for her parents Aaron & Holly.

I chose to do this in a brown/white monochromatic scheme & I am really pleased with it. I used the Hero Arts Dandelion stamp & paired it with some PTI Bitty Dot DP & Ribbon. The sentiment is also from PTI.

I used Polka Dot Basics 2 to create a small white with brown polka dotted paper to punch my Martha Stewart butterfly from. A few pearls coloured with Copics, mounting on foam pads & voila!

Making up for time lost with an SPCC challenge card or 2!!

I'm back again for the third and final post for today with 2 cards to share! Yes you did read correctly 2 cards!! It's been a while since I have participated in an SPCC colour challenge & thought it was about time to use them to get my Mojo a flowing again!!

When I first saw this colour combo I thought of Christmas with the Red & Green but found it a challenge to incorporate the yellow & blue. I guess thats why they are called challenges Lol!

I had a lil look through all my stamping supplies and cam across this HA Christmas Tree stamp and decided it was perfect for the card I wanted to create. I stamped it onto the So Saffron CS using Old Olive ink.

The baubles are coloured with Spica markers which have a lil bit of sparkle to them - yummy!
{Ingredients}
CS: SU! Old Olive, So Saffron, BAshful Blue & Real Red
Ink: Old Olive
Stamps: Hero Arts H5079 Tree with Lights, SU! Best Yet
Accessories: Spica Markers, SU! Bashful Blue Stripped Ribbon, Fiskars Punch, Star Gem, Paper Piercer
Loving my Macro Lens too :) As I was enjoying this flow of card making I decided to make another card using this colour combo. This time I decided general & not Christmassy! I reached for my new HA set again!!

Isn't that bird cute!! His body is mounted on foam pads for dimension and again I kept the card really simple!

{Ingredients}
CS: Same as previous card
Ink: SU! Old Olive & Real Red
Stamps: HA CL338 Be Yourself
Accessories: Foam Pads, SU! Real Red Grosgrain Ribbon

Well, I'm off to the gym in a bit & watch an episode of Dexter!! Looking forward to tomorrow as meeting Kerry & Claire for coffee, mags, craft goodie hunting & a good old chat!!

Thanks for stopping by again!!

Raspberry Suite Color Inspiration Challenge #17

This is my second post for today so be sure to scroll down to see some HA ATC's! Anyways ... Dawn posted a Raspberry Suite Color Challenge which helped kick my Mojo back into gear!! I really love this inspo pic below & think I may just have to make another card for this challenge later!!

I decided to use the cute bird from the 'Be Yourself' set that was already on my desk. I stamped him on the cream first, then on aqua & cut his body out & mounted on foam dots then on red CS for his wing. I then put some frosted lace Stickles on his wing for a bit of bling!!

I kept the card really simple but I think it turned out well :)

A close up of the bling wing using my new Macro Lens!!

{Ingredients}
CS: PTI Aqua Mist, Kraft, SU! Choc Chip & Very Vanilla, Red from stash!
Ink: SU! Choc Chip
Stamps: Hero Arts CL338
Accessories: Frosted Lace Stickles, Foam Pads, SU! Button, Linen thread & Red Organza Ribbon.

I can foresee that this HA set may not leave my desk for a while!! Lots of ideas popping into my brain as I type!! Be back later today or tomorrow with some more card shares. Gonna run Snow Leopard update on my mac now!

Catch y'all later!! Thanks for stopping by!

Back with a BANG & some ATC's!!

It's been a while since my last post - apologies, I've been busy with college work & lack of inspiration to create! But... I am back today with a BANG! and have been on creative roll this afternoon. I have tow more posts for today after this one so I shall get right to the point!!

This weeks challenge over at Hero Arts Blog is ATC's (Artist Trading Cards). These are cute 6 cm x 9 cm creations!! They are cute & kinda quick to make :)

This first one was inspired by Shari's ATC HERE, I just loved the white embossing on kraft card stock. I headed for my Stunning Snowflakes design block to create the background. I used to strips of scrap paper I found in my box, the holly piece I created a while back for a previous HA card HERE & HERE.

I just love this snowman stamp as he looks so cheerful! Below you can see the sentiment which again is simple & small, one of my recent purchases from SU! which was a bargain!! I used some HA gems to finish and also draws attention to the sentiment!

{Ingredients}
Card Stock: PTI Kraft
Ink: Versamark, Memento Black
Stamps: Hero Arts S5069 Stunning Snowflakes, LL042 Jolly Holiday Pops, F4237 Wavy Holly, SU! Daily Flexible Phrases.
Accessories: White EP, HA Red Gems, Copic Markers

This second ATC uses a lovely cream & brown monochrome colour scheme :) A few weeks ago I won $25 dollars from a HA contest HERE and I spent it on the 'Be Yourself' clear set! I love all the images in this set.

As an ATC has limited space it was perfect to use the smaller stamps from the set. The sentiment is from PTI's Handwritten Notes. I added some linen thread, prima flowers, gems and butterflies to finish it off.
{Ingredients}
Card Stock: SU! Chocolate Chip & Very Vanilla, PTI Kraft
Ink: SU! Chocolate Chip
Stamps: Hero Arts CL338 Be Yourself, S5264 Antique Flower Background, PTI Handwritten Notes
Accessories: PTI Bitty Dot DP, Martha Stewart Punch, Gold Gems, Linen Thread & foam pads.

The larger of the three butterflies is punched out of cream cardstock which was stamped with the Antique Flower background. The kraft layer is mounted up on foam pads.

I'll be back in a bit with more creative goodness to share!
