A Quick Christmas Card

What a busy day I have had so far and it's only just gone lunchtime her in the UK. We travel later tonight to a hotel near Manchester airport then get our flight to Orlando in the morning. I've just got in from taking the cats to their holiday destination - the cattery. What a struggle that was getting them into their boxes!! The looked a bit lost when I left them but I'm sure they will be fine. I still have a few bits to pack as were not taking a lot as I'm sure to be doing A LOT of shopping!!

Anyway back to this card. I LOVE Hero Arts stamps & stuff, but I am also loving the goodies I recently got from Stampin' Up! for instance the ribbons and co-ordinating card stock & papers. If only HA did this. They have a new suggestion box on the Flickr site HERE.

I'm addicted to using these cute Holiday Doves & I have a thing for circles and scalloped circles. I created the background using Versamark and the fantastic flourishes. It's a really simple card and I think I will be making a lot of these when I get back.

This photo below is a close up of the dove, it is attached to the ribbon using thin linen yarn so that is free to move.

{Ingredients}
Card: Whisper White, Real Red, Old Olive (All SU!)
Ink: Versamark, Memories Black
Stamps: HA CD Fantastic Flourishes, Holiday Doves & Seasons Greetings
Accessories: SU! Old Olive 5/8" Grosgrain Ribbon, Thin Linen Yarn, Cricut George & Basic Shapes & Accent Essentials

Thanks for stopping by today, I doubt that I will get anymore card shares uploaded before I go, I have photo's of a few other cards I have made so if I get time I will create some posts at the hotel tonight. As I said in a previous post I'm sure I may get to share a few highlights of my holiday whilst I'm away and I'll be sure to tell you of any bargains I find!!

HA Weekley Challenge 'Holiday'

As promised a couple of my submissions to this weeks 'holiday'challenge. I have a bit of time tonight so I may get a couple more done that I have planned out!

This first one was inspired by a tutorial that Beate wrote for SCS you can view it HERE.

{Ingredients}
Card: Whisper White, Old Olive, Real Read, Dashing DP (All SU!)
Ink: Versamark, Memories Black
Stamps: HA CD Fantastic Flourishes, HA Merry Christmas, SU! Occasional Greetings
Accessories: Snowflake Punch, Cricut Accent Essentials, HA Gems, SU! Whisper White & Real Red 1/4" Grosgrain Ribbon, Crystal Embossing Powder.

I really like this card layout and I would like to make another one for this challenge if I have time. If not I will be making these for Christmas.

This card is made using a simple layout I saw on SCS. I find SCS very helpful and inspiring.

This picture is of the hand stamped backing paper I used for the 'HAPPY'. It was quite tedious coloring in all the holly leaves but I like how it turned out and I would do it again. I did it because I don't have any HA Christmas design block stamps yet!!!

{Ingredients}
Card: Whisper White, Old Olive, Real Red (All SU!)
Ink: Memories Black, Versamark
Stamps: HA CD Holiday Tags, HA Wavy Holly, HA Merry Christmas
Accessories: SU! Real Red Ribbon, SU! Pricking Mat & Tools, Cricut George & Basic Shapes

Thanks for stopping by today.

Funny how Monday soon turns into Thursday!

Sorry to have left you all hanging when I said I would post stuff Monday, I really don't know where this week has gone! So I didn't win last weeks HA 'book' challenge or a day on the HA blog as I know of but these are my submissions for last week.

Firstly this was my entry for the 'book' challenge. I had loads of ideas and planned on doing various books but only had time for this one. I really enjoyed making this and probably will make variations of it to give to family for Christmas.

{Ingredients}
Card: Whisper White, Real Red, Always Artichoke, Dashing DP (All SU!)
Ink: Colorbox Chalks, Memories Black
Stamps: CD Holiday Tags, CD Celebrate Simple Joy, Tiny Santa,Fusion Trees, Merry Ornament, Wavy Holly (All Hero Arts)
Accessories: Red & Green Organza Ribbon, HA Snowflake Gems, Black Satin Ribbon, Ha Gems, Prisma color pencils & glitter glue.

I also had so many plans to enter more for the 'win a day on the HA blog' but I only entered a couple of cards. I will try my best for the new 'win a day on the HA blog'. I am off to Florida on Monday so I am hoping I will find lots of HA goodies on my travels around craft & scrapbook stores and I can't wait to visit Michaels!!!

{Ingredients}
Card: Night of Navy, Ballet Blue, Whisper White.
Ink: Colourbox chalks.
Stamps: Lots of Wonderful, CD Birds & Branches, DB Butterfly
Accessories: Navy Satin Ribbon, Cricut & Cricut Accent Essentials Cartridge.

I have been spoiling myself a lot recently with all that has happened this year I think is deserved and cheers me up a little :) so that has to be good.  I found out that SU! was available in the UK and found myself a demonstrator who happens to live 5 minutes away from me!! You can visit her blog HERE. Well of course I had to treat myself to dome goodies! One of the things I bought was the 4 card packs and I just LOVE how easy it is to match the colors with each other. I was so happy how the card above came out. Also I LOVE the birds in this set from HA and have done a few cards with them which I hope to share soon.

So.... I have managed to post a couple of things tonight and today I have managed to find time to make a couple of cards for this weeks HA 'holiday' challenge. I have had a varied day from getting my hair done to playing Pinata Trouble in Paradise on the XBOX 360 that arrived in the post today. Just love that game!!!

I doubt I will get round to posting while I'm away maybe a photo or two and some bargain buys!! I haven't figured out how to use this blogging site well enough yet to get posts ready to be uploaded before I go away. Anyways, hope to post again tomorrow but definetly before Monday!!
