It's Beginning to Look a LOT like Christmas!

Hey All!

I'm here and I haven't been snowed in just yet, but give it time as it is still snowing here in the North East of England! Anyhow, more of that later!

Today is the next A Passion for Papertrey Ink Challenge. This challenge is all about Christmas!

Christmas has arrived early in the North East of England with lots and lots AND LOTS of SNOW! After being a bit 'mojoless', the snow has certainly got me in the Christmas spirit! It's a good job as planning, as always hasn't gone to plan when it comes to my Christmas cards! As always I still have tons to make! I needed some quick & easy cards that didn't use too much of my precious PTI supplies and this is what I came up with.

These little cuties are only 7 cm X 10.5 cm which means you can get 4 out of one sheet of card stock! I used some precious Pure Poppy felt on these 4 but when I go full pelt to cranking these out I think I will just use Pure Poppy card stock!

It's hard to see in the photo's but I used some PTI Shimmer card stock & coloured the images with Copic Spica pens to add some sparkle. Some Pure Poppy Bakers Twine and some snowflakes finished them off!

I thought I'd share a couple of photos I took yesterday out of my window once I'd finished making my cards. It's lovely to sit and look at when inside cozy and warm! But I'm sure when I'm back at work Wednesday I will be cursing it if my car is all snowed up and I have to clear it at 6am!

Oh Well, I best get on, SO many more Christmas Cards to make! Hope you join the challenge!
Thanks for stopping by!

'Scrapilicious'

Happy Monday!

As we start this new week, we start a new challenge over on A Passion for Papertrey. The challenge this time is to use your scraps!

Like many crafters I find it hard to throw away scraps! I often die cut more shapes than I need when making a project and the ones I don't use end up in a box to use on a later project. Same goes for ribbon scraps, the little pieces after making a bow end up in the same box. I have to say it's not very often I go to the box to see what's in there! It's usually when I am faced with a challenge like this one that I go to the box!

After perusing Nichole's blog the other morning the card she had made with the Hibiscus Burst & Scarlet Jewel colour combo jumped out at me as a fantastic colour combo and a combo I'd never attempted. I had a look in my now called 'scrapilicious' box and found these:

A while ago I was on a butterfly embellishment kick after seeing them on Dawn McVey's blog! I'd die cut loads of butterflies in an array of colours. I also added different patterns to the butterflies before die cutting them. The scarlet jewel butterflies are stamped with a Hero Arts Damask stamp. The pink one using the Butterfly Dreams stamps and die was one I'd made for a set of Christening cards I'd made for a friend.

I loved various elements from Nichole's card which can be seen HERE. I loved the way she stamped the leaf and wanted to recreate the look. If you look in the picture below you can see how the pink in coloured the dots on the paper, but added a different colour dimension to the leaves.

I've had a lack of creative mojo over the past few days, hopefully making this card has kick started it!

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you have a go at the challenge!

Featured Stamper

Hey All!

I thought I'd pop in and say Hi and also to share the news of me being featured stamper over on the A Passion for Papertrey Blog!

I was thrilled to be asked by the talented team over on the blog, Kate, Aimes & Caryn. Thanks guys!

Well, the challenge is to make anything but a card. I decided to break out some of my new stash. That included my new Favour it 2 box die, limitless layers dies, Holiday Jar Fillers Stamp Set and the Holiday Tags 2010. That was just a few of the supplies!

I used Debbie Olsen's tag idea like my previous post. I kept the decoration on the box super simple so that they are easy to mass produce! I will probably make these and fill them with treats for friends at work and Uni.

This photo above shows the lovely snowflake image for Holiday Jar Fillers. I added a simple gem to the centre of each snowflake for that added sparkle. Below is a close up of the tag from 2010 Holiday Tag Stamp Set.

Be Sure to stop on by the APPTI Blog for the other projects the team have put together and to enter the challenge yourself.

Emotions

Hey!

Well I did have a bubbly post prepared but due to some bad news this will be a short & sweet post. After being ill all week with this horrid bug going round I was cheered up to pick my PTI goodies yesterday.

So to get myself out of the gloominess of being ill I had to try out my new Limitless Layers Dies :) They are ABSOLUTELY scrumptious! I decided to play along with the A Passion for Papertrey Ink latest challenge HERE.

The challenge is to CASE something so I decided to case Debbie Olson's Tags HERE. Instead of using the 2010 Holiday Tags set which I also got, I decided to use 3 of the small images from Holiday Jar Fillers.

Below is a close up. You can see that I have cased the layer idea!

The sad news I got today was that my Uncle passed away today after a 2 year battle with cancer. May you Rest in Peace Uncle Syd with Mum, Nana & Grandad. I miss you all SO much.

This is a picture of my Uncle. He had a passion for walking.

Sweet Sunday Sketch

Hello!

Tonight I thought I'd share a card I made for my neighbour. It is to say Thank you for their patience whilst we had our driveway done! I used Karen's Sweet Sunday Sketch HERE for my LO.

I coloured the flowers using the Pure Poppy Copic Trio and then mounted it onto some Pure Poppy CS. I added some Hawaiian Shores CS and Bitty Dot Satin Ribbon to a White card base. Love this colour combo at the mo!

As I shared the card I thought I would share some pics of the NEW driveway & patio! The weather stayed dry for a little time this afternoon so I went out and took some shots with the Nikon!

Just one car on the drive today as K was at work but there is plenty of room for the Seat next to Volly the Volvo!

Nice shot of the freshly laid lawn from two different angles! It's so green and lush!

Here's the patio! Excuse the black tape! This is to highlight to the company that we are not satisfied that all the cat prints that are NOT Mr Cats have been sorted!

A pic from the house looking the other way! Bought the garden storage today which fir nicely in front of the shed! Garden needs a bit of TLC! Hopefully this weekend when the weather is supposed to be nice!

Thanks for stopping by! I'm off to watch Modern Family & Idiot Abroad now :)

A Passion for Papertrey Make & Take Day!

Hello there!

I am back! Life as always has been busy around here but I planned my time and was able to attend the A Passion for Papertrey Make & Take yesterday. It was such as fun day :) I travelled down to Sheffield with my friend Kerry to meet up with Kate & Aimes and the A Passion of Papertrey gang! I thought I would share a few pics of the day!

Above is Kate & Aimes who really planned and worked hard to make the day SO much fun and a total success. Hope they plan to do another one again soon!

Above is Aimes with the project she created for us to make. I really enjoyed using some of the PTI sets that are not in my collection yet!

The pic above and below are of some of the people who travelled near and far to come to the day! Here we are enjoying a lovely lunch break!

Below is me with total concentration of completing a project! I was totally unaware Kerry had taken this pic of me! Lol!
Finally here is a group shot!

It was truly a FUN day and it was lovely to meet people and put names to faces! Well after a day of creating I was inspired to carry on this morning! I thought instead of sharing the projects we made yesterday I would make a card for the current challenge over on A Passion for Papertrey - Autumn.

I thought it fitting to use my Falling Leaves stamp set which has seen little ink! I also broke out a couple of new products I bought in the last release. Fine Linen CS and the Tag Sale 1 die. It's the first time I've used the Eyelet Lace die and Terracotta Tile Ribbon and CS!

I had better get on with some other things as I have a list as long as my arm! Thanks for stopping by!

Merry & Bright Magnolia!

Hey All!

Happy Friday! I thought I'd share a card I made last night. I decided to ink up one of my many new Magnolia stamps! It was really relaxing last night to colour her in with my Copic markers. I used the gold Spica pen to colour the bow and tassels and also the middles of the poinsettias. I added some stickles for the coat fur to add a little more sparkle!

I used Kaiser Craft designer papers from the Dear Santa and Belle collections along with some PTI card stock. I then added some Viva Decor to the circle strip down the left hand side and also round the scallop sentiment. So fun and easy to do!

A slightly more layerlicious card but nowhere near as layerlicious as my friend Kerry gets! Lol! Any how I must be cracking on I've got this & that to do before my hunny is home from work!

Thanks for stopping by!

Christmas Mouse

Happy Thursday!

Well, I've been getting into the Christmas spirit this week and started to make some CAS Christmas cards that are quick and easy to produce! I have also been very OCD by cataloguing all my rubber stamps! I'm about a 1/4 of the way through! Whilst in my tidying and organising mood I decided to ink up some old favourite Penny Black stamps.

I just love this cute mouse stamp and it fits perfectly in the Mat Stack 4 die from PTI which just happened to arrive this week along with some other goodies :)

I coloured the mouse using Copic markers and added Stickles to his hat. The background on the card is Hero Arts Stunning Snowflakes which I stamped in Aqua and added Prisma Glitter with a 2way glue pen. The sentiment is PTI from the Holiday Tags 2009 Collection.

Thanks for stopping by today!

Mini Break & Fall Card

Hey All!

Happy Wednesday! Today I thought I start by sharing some photos I took using my iPhone at the weekend. We took a trip North West to see my uncle who lives in Cumbria. It's not like me but I forgot to take my camera and so had to rely on my iPhone!

On the Sunday afternoon after a lovely pub dinner my uncle drove us around where he lives. One of the stops on route is a lovely hamlet called Dent. It's about 4 miles from his town of Sedbergh.

This first photo is a memorial to Adam Sedgwick a founder of modern geology.

This is a view of one of the main streets. I love the cobbled roads and quaint little cottages and the views around are amazing as you will see in the other photos!

On Monday morning before we headed home, Karl and I took a short walk in the surrounding countryside.

This photo is of the fells behind the town of Sedbergh.

There are many little cottages surrounded by the countryside like the one in the photo above.

Our walk took us by the river. It was a lovely sunny day with a bit of a breeze!

Another shot of the countryside looking East.

This last photo is of a lovely interesting building in the town as we walked back to my uncles house. I wish I had remembered to take more of the town but was busy chatting away to Karl!

Now onto something crafty! This is a card I made last week and have only just photographed! It's for the current monthly challenge over on Hero Arts.

It's been absolutely ages since I made a card or project for the challenges over on Hero Arts, but with being on holiday from work and not going away I found the time and inspiration!

I broke out an old un-inked set for this card, 3 Designer leaves. I created the background by inking one of the leaves in the set with Pumpkin Pie and rolling the edges in Ruby Red ink and stamping. It gives a lovely two toned effect.

I did the same for the greenish brown leaves and cut 2 out. I then created a small sentiment panel and stamped a sentiment and 2 leaves from the PTI Falling Leaves set. Some grosgrain ribbon and a button tied with linen thread finished the card.

I really enjoyed making this card. I hope to make some more projects using the Fall theme in the next week! Well, it's time I moved from the computer and carried out some of my other tasks for the day!

Thanks for stopping by!
