Have a Safe Happy New Year Everyone!

Kristina Werner Color Inspiration Challenge #36

This is the first time I have ever played a Kristina Color inspiration challenge. I have seen what other people have done and really like their creations. As I was surfing around the blogging world I popped by today and saw that she had posted #36 so I thought while I have a spare hour I'd have a go at making a card. Below is the color inspiration.

This is what I came up with. I wasn't too sure how I was going to incorporate the old olive, but I am really pleased with how this turned out. I have had this set from SU! for a while now but hadn't even put the stamps together, so I thought I'd break it out! I must get some more pretty in pink card as I had to search through my oddments to find some!!!

{Ingredients}
Card Stock: Rose Red, Pretty in Pink, Old Olive & Whisper White (All SU!)
Ink: Old Olive, Rose Red, Pretty in Pink & Always Artichoke
Stamps: A Rose is a Rose, Sincere Salutations, Polka dot
Accessories: Rose Red Stitched Grosgrain Ribbon, Pearl Gems

Thanks for looking!

Hero Arts Weekly Challenge 'Thanks'

Good Day! Today I have a card I made yesterday for this weeks HA Challenge. One of the slants on the challenge was to incorporate a Christmas image. This I found hard as when I make 'Thanks' cards I don't tend to make them Christmasy even if I'm thanking for a Christmas gift.

Anywho! I found it a challenge but I am pleased how it turned out.

That debut butterfly is getting some serious inking at the mo! I LOVE it, it's so simple to use and seems to look great on every card!

{Ingredients}
Card Stock:  Perfect Plum, Pale Plum, Whisper White (All SU!)
Stamps: HA Design Block Stunning Snowflakes S509, HA Heart Winged Butterfly F5158, Sparkle Clear Warm Wishes CL243 and Thoughtful Messages CL184.
Ink: Colorbox Chalk Ink Ice Blue, Lavender & Pale Lavender
Accessories: SU! Whisper White & Eggplant Grosgrain Ribbon, Gems & Glitter Glue

I might get back later for another share. Hope you all have a good New Years Eve!

My Engagement Ring!

As I said I would here are some pictures of my engagement ring!  About 3 weeks before Christmas we had discussed the issue of getting engaged and Karl said well... I can't propose without a ring so this is what I went out and chose. I just had no clue as to when he had bought it or when he would propose!

On Christmas morning we opened our gifts and I was beginning to think it wasn't going to happen and maybe he would wait till the New Year.... just as i got up to answer a text message he handed me my Christmas Card and as I opened it it said inside... Will You Marry Me?! and so he got down on one knee and proposed like a true gentleman. I have never been so happy and of course I said YES!!

Thanks for stopping by today and I will have a card share tomorrow. I've been working on another submission to the HA Challenge this week. There is just not enough daylight at the mo to get good pics.

Have a nice evening!

2 Challenges in 1!

I started this card for Julee's Mojo Monday #67 over at Poetic Artistry. I just flipped the sketch which I think is the first time I've ever done that! I knew straight away which stamp I wanted to use and color scheme! Yes... it's the HA heart winged butterfly & choc chip & baja breeze again! Here's the Sketch and my card!

{Ingredients}
Card Stock: Whisper White, Chocolate Chip, Baja Breeze (All SU!)
Ink: Chocolate Chip (SU!)
Stamps: HA Heart Winged Butterfly & HA Bird Branch Alphabet
Accessories: Nestabilities Classic Scallop Rectangles, Glitter Glue

Can you tell that I am loving that HA Debut stamp...? and I got the bird branch alphabet for Christmas from my sweet now fiance! More posts coming later today!

Where Have I Been For So Long....?

I have been a terrible blogger for such a long time.  I have no excuses apart from poor time management!! I really must make more of an effort! Anyway enough babble for now and to something more creative! Over the past week or so I have found time to participate in a few challenges and finished a few projects apart from Christmas cards, mainly Hero Arts but I do LOVE their challenges!

Last Week the challenges were sketch challenges and my favorite sketch was Friday's and this is what I produced.

{Ingredients}
Card Staock: Whisper White, Chocolate Chip & Baja Breeze (All SU!)
DP: Basic Grey Offbeat
Stamps: HA Heart Winged Butterfly, HA Balck & White Flowers
Ink: Chocolate Chip
Accessories: SU! Grosgrain Ribbon Chocolate Chip & Whisper White. Making Memories Mini Shimmer Alphabet

I just loved the Basic Grey paper that I bought and I have created another project which I hope to show a bit later. You can check my other HA Sketch Challenge entries on my Flickr Site HERE. Be sure to pop back later for some more card goodness!

A Quick Christmas Card

What a busy day I have had so far and it's only just gone lunchtime her in the UK. We travel later tonight to a hotel near Manchester airport then get our flight to Orlando in the morning. I've just got in from taking the cats to their holiday destination - the cattery. What a struggle that was getting them into their boxes!! The looked a bit lost when I left them but I'm sure they will be fine. I still have a few bits to pack as were not taking a lot as I'm sure to be doing A LOT of shopping!!

Anyway back to this card. I LOVE Hero Arts stamps & stuff, but I am also loving the goodies I recently got from Stampin' Up! for instance the ribbons and co-ordinating card stock & papers. If only HA did this. They have a new suggestion box on the Flickr site HERE.

I'm addicted to using these cute Holiday Doves & I have a thing for circles and scalloped circles. I created the background using Versamark and the fantastic flourishes. It's a really simple card and I think I will be making a lot of these when I get back.

This photo below is a close up of the dove, it is attached to the ribbon using thin linen yarn so that is free to move.

{Ingredients}
Card: Whisper White, Real Red, Old Olive (All SU!)
Ink: Versamark, Memories Black
Stamps: HA CD Fantastic Flourishes, Holiday Doves & Seasons Greetings
Accessories: SU! Old Olive 5/8" Grosgrain Ribbon, Thin Linen Yarn, Cricut George & Basic Shapes & Accent Essentials

Thanks for stopping by today, I doubt that I will get anymore card shares uploaded before I go, I have photo's of a few other cards I have made so if I get time I will create some posts at the hotel tonight. As I said in a previous post I'm sure I may get to share a few highlights of my holiday whilst I'm away and I'll be sure to tell you of any bargains I find!!

HA Weekley Challenge 'Holiday'

As promised a couple of my submissions to this weeks 'holiday'challenge. I have a bit of time tonight so I may get a couple more done that I have planned out!

This first one was inspired by a tutorial that Beate wrote for SCS you can view it HERE.

{Ingredients}
Card: Whisper White, Old Olive, Real Read, Dashing DP (All SU!)
Ink: Versamark, Memories Black
Stamps: HA CD Fantastic Flourishes, HA Merry Christmas, SU! Occasional Greetings
Accessories: Snowflake Punch, Cricut Accent Essentials, HA Gems, SU! Whisper White & Real Red 1/4" Grosgrain Ribbon, Crystal Embossing Powder.

I really like this card layout and I would like to make another one for this challenge if I have time. If not I will be making these for Christmas.

This card is made using a simple layout I saw on SCS. I find SCS very helpful and inspiring.

This picture is of the hand stamped backing paper I used for the 'HAPPY'. It was quite tedious coloring in all the holly leaves but I like how it turned out and I would do it again. I did it because I don't have any HA Christmas design block stamps yet!!!

{Ingredients}
Card: Whisper White, Old Olive, Real Red (All SU!)
Ink: Memories Black, Versamark
Stamps: HA CD Holiday Tags, HA Wavy Holly, HA Merry Christmas
Accessories: SU! Real Red Ribbon, SU! Pricking Mat & Tools, Cricut George & Basic Shapes

Thanks for stopping by today.

Funny how Monday soon turns into Thursday!

Sorry to have left you all hanging when I said I would post stuff Monday, I really don't know where this week has gone! So I didn't win last weeks HA 'book' challenge or a day on the HA blog as I know of but these are my submissions for last week.

Firstly this was my entry for the 'book' challenge. I had loads of ideas and planned on doing various books but only had time for this one. I really enjoyed making this and probably will make variations of it to give to family for Christmas.

{Ingredients}
Card: Whisper White, Real Red, Always Artichoke, Dashing DP (All SU!)
Ink: Colorbox Chalks, Memories Black
Stamps: CD Holiday Tags, CD Celebrate Simple Joy, Tiny Santa,Fusion Trees, Merry Ornament, Wavy Holly (All Hero Arts)
Accessories: Red & Green Organza Ribbon, HA Snowflake Gems, Black Satin Ribbon, Ha Gems, Prisma color pencils & glitter glue.

I also had so many plans to enter more for the 'win a day on the HA blog' but I only entered a couple of cards. I will try my best for the new 'win a day on the HA blog'. I am off to Florida on Monday so I am hoping I will find lots of HA goodies on my travels around craft & scrapbook stores and I can't wait to visit Michaels!!!

{Ingredients}
Card: Night of Navy, Ballet Blue, Whisper White.
Ink: Colourbox chalks.
Stamps: Lots of Wonderful, CD Birds & Branches, DB Butterfly
Accessories: Navy Satin Ribbon, Cricut & Cricut Accent Essentials Cartridge.

I have been spoiling myself a lot recently with all that has happened this year I think is deserved and cheers me up a little :) so that has to be good.  I found out that SU! was available in the UK and found myself a demonstrator who happens to live 5 minutes away from me!! You can visit her blog HERE. Well of course I had to treat myself to dome goodies! One of the things I bought was the 4 card packs and I just LOVE how easy it is to match the colors with each other. I was so happy how the card above came out. Also I LOVE the birds in this set from HA and have done a few cards with them which I hope to share soon.

So.... I have managed to post a couple of things tonight and today I have managed to find time to make a couple of cards for this weeks HA 'holiday' challenge. I have had a varied day from getting my hair done to playing Pinata Trouble in Paradise on the XBOX 360 that arrived in the post today. Just love that game!!!

I doubt I will get round to posting while I'm away maybe a photo or two and some bargain buys!! I haven't figured out how to use this blogging site well enough yet to get posts ready to be uploaded before I go away. Anyways, hope to post again tomorrow but definetly before Monday!!

Just a quick note!

I thought I would just add that the original winner of my blog candy never contacted me, so I got Karl to pull another number out of the hat and he pulled number 3 which is Jenn. Jenn your goodies are on their way to you! I will probably do another blog candy when we get back from Florida.

Better go! Thanks for stopping by!

Long Time No Blog!

Hi All,

I am soooo sorry that I have been a bad blogger yet again! I have been and still am quite busy catching up on some Uni work that I was given an extension for. I managed this week to find a little time to do the HA 'colour' challenge this week.

The first card I made was using the hot pink, lime green & soft pink colour combination. I made this simple birthday card for my best friend at work as it's her birthday next week.

{Ingredients}
Card: Whisper White, Hot Pink & Soft Pink
Ink: Colorbox Chalks
Stamps: HA DB Birthday, HA CD Share Laughter
Accessories: HA Flower Gems, SU! Whisper White grosgrain ribbon

The second card I made was using the pumpkin orange, yellow & purple blue colour combination. I will probably send this to my best friend from school :)

{Ingredients}
Card: SU! Pumpkin Pie & Sunshine Yellow
Ink: StazOn Royal Purple
Stamps: HA CD Fantastic Flourishes, HA CD Share Laughter
Accessories: Yellow Satin Ribbon, HA Crystal Gems, Got Flowers? SU! Pumpkin Pie Designer Papers

I really enjoyed making both these cards and I was able to use some of my brand new Stampin' Up! products that I received on Monday through the post. I was soooo lucky enough to find  a SU! demonstrator in my town, literally 5 minutes down the road!

I have seen SU! products all over and have wanted to get my hands on them for ages. The UK catalogue is good but nowhere near as good as the US! I just really like how the ribbon, card stock and designer papers all co-ordinate.  I still LOVE Hero Arts but a girl has to splash out on other things now and then!

I getting way excited now as it is only 4 weeks until we are on our holidays and off to Florida. I can't wait to shop in all the lovely craft shops and Michael's etc..!!!!!

Well, I have been quite bad today and not done a scrap of college work so I had better go and get a couple of things ready so I can do plenty tomorrow before we go to Karl's Mam's for lunch.

Thanks for stopping by today. I hope to post another couple of cards I have made for the HA 'colour' challenge tomorrow.

HA Weekley Challenge 'Summer'

Hiya Peeps!

I'm sorry i've been so long since my last post. I've had a lot going on and this week I have got a horrible cold :( so I haven't really felt like doing much. Today though I found some inspiration to create a card for this weeks HA challenge - 'Summer'.

It took me a while to think of what I like about Summer and I thought of all the obvious images I could use such as flowers, trees, butterflies etc. But I wanted to do something different! Then I was thinking about my mum and the holidays we went on as a family. From the age of 8 or 9 we went to a holiday chalet park in Wales and enjoyed many family holidays year after year. Sometimes along with my brother and mum would come some of my my mums friends and we had so many good times.

One year we went on a outing to a wildlife park and my brother and I enjoyed it so much that we went nearly every year we went to Wales. So I decided to create a card based on this memory. I am pleased how it turned out :)

{Summer Fun Ingredients}
Card: White, Beige & Chocolate Chip cs
Ink: Colorbox Chalks, StazOn Timber Brown
Stamps: HA CD Playful Animals
Accessories: American Crafts Grossgrain Stitch Ribbon, foam pads

Link to some FAB blogs I found today

I thought I'd share a couple of cool blogs to checkout :) The first one is for all those who love the cute stamps that Penny Black make. Go HERE to find out all about it. They set a challenge every Saturday in which to use Penny Black stamps.

The second blog I found whilst looking at blogs on the Penny Black blog and finding more blogs and blogs and blogs ......... I think you all get the idea! Not only does Michelle have some cool ideas but is giving away some FAB blog candy! Just go HERE to find out more.

If I get time today I will post a card or two. I've had a busy day taking the poor Mysterio to the vets. The silly boy stayed out all night and got into a fight and is feeling more than sorry for himself! The vet gave him a painkiller and antibiotic and I have to take him back tomorrow so the vet can have a better look at him under sedation. He was in too much pain today.

HA Weekley Challenge 'inchies'

I know I've been a slack blogger recently but I really don't know where the days go! I did have the dreaded dentist this week and cos I'm really phobic of the dentist I have to be sedated - Haha! I lost a day and a half with that I think! LOL! Anyhow I did get around to doing the HA challenge.

For this weeks HA challenge Shari introduced everyone to the world of 'inchies'! The idea was to use a 1" square of card stock and put your design onto that 1" square. This week an order of HA stamps came through the post - finally! I've been waiting for these for ages :)

I was going to put the four 'inchies' of this card in a block, but I wanted a different contemporary look which I feel I achieved with this card.

{Ingredients}
Card: Fushia & Black CS, Light GoldStardust CS
Ink: Memories Black
Stamps: HA CD Thoughtful Messages
Accessories: Gold & Black 3mm Satin ribbon, Flower Gem, Foam Pads

For my second attempt at this challenge I used a design block stamp and cut the image into 'inchies' and mounted them with coloured card. I also incorporated the 'spotlighting' technique shown in a previous challenge week.

{Ingredients}
Card: White, Rose Tint, Pink Sorbet & Milk Chocolate CS
Ink: Impress Chocolate, Colorbox Chalks Pink
Stamps: HA Design Block Butterfly
Accessories: Gold Pearls, Stickles Glitter Glue, Foam Pads, Chocolate Chip Grosgrain Ribbon & Pink Satin Ribbon.

Thanks for stopping by today. Be sure to checkout my blog next week for something exciting!!!
