Raspberry Suite Color Inspiration Challenge No.7

Today I had a spare hour to make a card for the Raspberry Suite Color Inspiration No.7. I loved making the damask background paper I had used in some earlier cards HERE, so I had to make some more for this challenge card! This time I created in on spring moss card stock and I used certainly celery ink. I then matted it onto ripe avocado CS and then onto raspberry fizz base card.

I used my Cuttlebug Butterfly die and my swiss dots folder, if you look closely you can see that the butterfly has damasks on it too!

{Ingredients}
Card Stock: Raspberry Fizz, Ripe Avocado, Spring Moss (PTI)
Ink: Raspberry Fizz (PTI) and Certainly Celery (SU!)
Stamps: Damask Designs (PTI)
Accessories: 1/4" Grosgrain Ribbon in Always Artichoke & Certainly Celery (SU!) Gems (Papermania)

I know that Dawn said we could use white if we wanted too but I thought I'd try my best not to use it and I succeeded - YAY! Well I hope to have another post later or tomorrow. I'm off for a little bike ride now to meet Karl on his cycle home from work! It's lovely and sunny with a breeze here in the North East of the UK - just right for a bike ride!

Thanks for stopping by today!

Hero Arts Go Green Challenge

This weeks challenge from HA is to create a 'green' card using recycled materials. I had been looking forward to doing this challenge all week as I am always saving bits and bobs from packages and gifts, but... I really seemed to struggle for an idea!

Well earlier I was blog hopping about and I came across this card HERE on Splitcoast Stampers and really liked it. All week I have been changing the furniture in our dining area, buying a new table and sideboard plus new ornaments and dinnerware! One of my favorite shops in the UK is Next and they have a FAB catalogue. I came across a really nice pattern on some bed linen and it was my starting point for this cards color combo.

This is what I created!

I really like the top note die people having been using from SU! but I don't own one :( as luck turns out the Cricut cartridge Accent Essentials has a similar shape. I adhered the magazine page to some thin card stock for stability and cut the shape out and then cut the shape in half.

{Ingredients}
Card Stock: Raspberry Fizz (PTI), Close to Cocoa (SU!)
Ink: Raspberry Fizz (PTI), Black (Memories)
Stamps: Polka Dot (SU!) Heart Winged Butterfly and Hello Birdie (HA)
Accessories: Raspberry Fizz Polka Dot Ribbon (PTI), Swiss Dots Embossing Folder, Fiskars punch, Glitter Glue, Copics.

I have a few spare pieces of the patterned paper from the magazine so I may use them on another card if I have time. Unfortunately it's back to work for me tomorrow and Sunday :( I hope the bank holiday weekend isn't too busy at work.

Have a great weekend everyone and I will be back on Monday with a post! Thanks for stopping by!

Thankyou Cards

These are some cards I made yesterday morning following the inspiration I found on Dawn's blog like with the card I made at card club. I followed Dawn's instructions and made my own background paper using the largest of the damask designs stamp. I really needed some 'Thankyou' cards so I ended up using the whole sheet of background paper I had created! Must make some more and make more 'Thankyou' cards as I used them all!

I started off using some of Dawn's card layouts but then I got on a roll and made some of my own. Can you tell that I am really loving this color combo!

The cards below are just a close up of each.

I really enjoyed making these cards, thanks for stopping by today.

Card Club

Last night I was able to attend my friend Claire's card club that she has been holding for a while now. Usually I am at college on a Wednesday but now we have broken up for the summer I had a chance to go and meet some new and lovely people that share the same passion as me - card making and crafting goodies!

I managed to make one card in between all the chatting about new goodies!! This card was inspired by Dawn McVey - Thanks Dawn.

{Ingredients}
Card Stock: Choc Chip SU! and Cream
Ink: Choc Chip SU!
Stamps: Damask Designs PTI, Polka Dot SU!
Accessories: Choc Chip Grosgrain Ribbon, buttons both SU!

For this card I broke out my new Damask Design's set which Dawn designed. I have been waiting ages to use this set. Dawn's blog post HERE really gave me the inspiration to create this card.

I went on to make some more cards this morning, hopefully I will get to share them later when I have uploaded them to my laptop.

Thanks for stopping by!

Raspberry Suite Color Inspiration Challenge No.6

Hi All, I'm finally back to blogging it's nice to be chilled since I handed in all my degree work last week for another year - yay!

To get back into my crafting I needed some inspiration and Dawn's Color Challenge gave me a boost to do that! The  picture below shows the colors for this week.

I found the Coral Pink the hardest even though I had splashed out on some new goodies a while back which included PTI card stock sampler, so I had all the colors to hand in CS but not inks or ribbon!! Haha! Looks like I will have to order some more goodies!!

{Ingredients}
Card Stock: PTI Aqua Mist &Berry Sorbet, White (Staples)
Ink: SU! Choc Chip
Stamps: PTI Scattered Showers
Accessories: PTI Dark Choc Swiss Dots Satin Ribbon

Anyway above is the card I created using Dawn's Scattered Showers, first time I've used the set too! I'm kinda pleased with the outcome but I enjoyed the challenge and it's got me back into the craft room!! Going to give this card to a friend at work who has just found out she's expecting :)

Thanks for stopping by my blog.
