Another Hero Arts Digital Card

Just a super quick share today as I have just got in after a 12 hour shift at work & oh what a busy shift! Anyway, yesterday I had a lil time & decided to have a go at creating another digital & digital hybrid card for the HA Learning challenge.

This time I used the Botanical Tulips with the Flutterbies & I also used a photocuts mask to add the detail to the cream layer. This layer also has the Friendship Definition as an overlay is a soft muted brown.

I am pleased with this digital version but decided to print it out & make a traditional card. The digital layer is adhered using foam pads for a little dimension. I added some twine around the bottom of this layer before adhering to keep in with the soft muted tones. Again I layered the largest butterfly leaving the wings unattached.

A simple HA flower & SU! button add the final touch along with the simple sentiment.

{Ingredients}
CS: SU! Whisper White, Close to Cocoa & Cream from stash
Ink: SU! Chocolate Chip
Digital Stamps: Hero Arts Botanical Tulips, Friendship Definition, Flutterbies. Photocuts Masks 5 Carina Gardner.
Stamps: Damask Designs PTI
Accessories: Linen Thread, HA Flower, SU! Button, Foam Pads

Well, I'm out at college all day starting my dissertation & designing so I may be a lil tired to create anything new for this weeks HA Photocard Challenge but I WILL be joining in at some point this week. I hope to have a general card share tomorrow though!

Thanks for stopping by!

Hero Arts & Mojo #104

This is my second post for the day be sure to scroll down to see the first! This card incorporates 2 challenges, I used the Mojo Monday sketch 104 to create another card for the HA learning challenge & blog day 2009!

On this card I have used my Copics which I am loving to learn to use & the other thing I have learnt through HA is that you can use your Copics or other permanent markers to change the colour of gems which I have done here on this card.

I am leaning also to use more of the products I have than buying & I have had this designer paper for ages & find it hard to incorporate into my designs but jumped right in with this card & had a go!! I have also had this HA Cupcake set but have hardly used it, when I saw the sketch I was looking through my stash & thought this would work perfectly!

{Ingredients}
CS: SU! Whisper White, PTI Smokey Shadow
Ink: Memories Black
Stamps: Hero Arts Clear Design CL158 Cupcakes
Accessories: Double Take Designer Paper, Gems, Copics, Foam Pads, Spellbinders Nestabilities & Big Shot.

Today is sunny & warm in the North East of the UK which always helps my creative process!! Chores have been done so there is more time to craft & create!! Off out later for Sunday dinner the best meal of the week!! Enjoy the rest of the weekend & thanks for stopping by!

Feel Better ........ win a day on HA Blog 2009!

HAPPY Sunday! On Friday night I learned that my friend Claire from card club was admitted to hospital, so while I had my new supplies on my desk I decided to make her a Feel Better card. As it was late at night the colours have come out a lil more orangey than orangey pinky that they look in real life! The card stock is Melon Berry on Kraft. I still need to play & learn about the white balance setting on my camera but it is on my to do list & my brother John is helping me out!

Anyway... back to the card! I used my nearly old favorite the Heart Winged Butterfly with the Black & White Flowers with another of my NEW HA stamps Elegant Brocade. I used my Stamp-a-ma-jig to create a background of the Elegant Brocade & used a section on the bottom of the card. I'm sure you will see more of this popping up!! Again this is inspired by the lovely Dawn McVey!

The butterfly is stamped onto kraft CS using Chocolate Chip & coloured using PrismaColor Pencils. I added a lil Star Dust Stickles to the Hearts & Voila! The flowers & butterfly are mounted on foam pads for a lil dimension.

{Ingredients}
CS: PTI Kraft & Melon Berry, SU! Whisper White
Stamps: Hero Arts F5243 Elegant Brocade, F5158 Heart Winged Butterfly, F5132 Balck & White Flowers, PTI Tea for Two for sentiment.
Ink: SU! Cameo Coral, Chocolate Chip
Accessories: SU! Scallop Boader Punch, PTI Melon Berry Swiss Dot Ribbon, PTI Bitty Dot DP

I am entering this into HA contest to win a day on their blog you can read the details HERE. I hope this cheered my friend up :) Be sure to check by later for more card shares!!

Christmas has come early!!

Hey All! Christmas came early in my house yesterday when I collected my parcel from the Post Office! As I didn't manage to get the Crop-a-dile corner chomper or many NEW Hero Arts Stamps while I was on holiday I treated myself to some! Lol!

Yesterday I was in my element listening to music & stamping away :) I cranked out four cards which I am really pleased with :) This first card I am showing tonight uses a NEW background stamp from HA the Antique Flower. This card is a CASE of THIS card by Dawn McVey she is so talented & I just love her color combos & LO's.

I used Kraft CS & stamped my background using Chocolate Chip ink. I used chalk ink to soften the edges & used my corner chomper to round off the edges! The sentiment is from SU! I was playing around with my new camera lens & I love the crispness of the photo below!

In the photo below I love the crisp bold button with the fuzzy faded ribbon towards the edges of the photo - fun! I love the simplicity of this card & it would be easy to create many if a Christmas rush happens!!

{Ingredients}
CS: Cream & Red from Stash, Kraft PTI
Stamps: HA S5264 Antique Flower Background, SU! Best Yet
Ink: SU! Choc Chip, ColorBox Chalk ink
Accessories: Fiskars Lace Punch, SU! Very Vanilla Grosgrain Ribbon, Linen Thread, Vintage Button from Stash, Corner Chomper!

I was back to work today after nearly 3 weeks off so feeling a bit tired :( takes me a while to get back into the swing of things 12 hrs on my feet is tough going after such a long break! I have the day tomorrow to complete a few chores round the house with a lil time for crafting & a lil time to do some college design work :)

Hope your having a lovely weekend :) Thanks for stopping by & be sure to check back tomorrow for more card shares!

Hero Arts Learning Challenge

Happy Friday! This is the last day of my holidays :( back to work tomorrow! Oh well! Yesterday I thought I would work on a entry into this weeks HA challenge. As I was feeling a lil mojoless I decided to do a digital card. Seeing the HA had added new digital kits to the 2Peas website I bought myself two & was extremely happy when I only paid $1 for them as I happened to be at the right time & was this weeks digital winner & got $5 off my order which made me HAPPY!

Above is the LO I created in Photoshop using the 2 new sets Flutterbies & Floral Papers the flowers & gems came from the Friendship definition extras. I also used the friendship definition over the patterned strip of paper.

I decided to use some of the techniques I have learned from Shari's videos in Hero Arts Digital 102 & 103. With the butterflies I added a filter to soften them a little which I think worked really nice. I am really pleased with this.

I then went on & printed my card front out size 10 cm x 14 cm, I then put foam adhesive & layered it onto my card base. I printed extra butterflies out and adhered them over the top not adding glue to the wings so they look like they are fluttering! I also added some Star Dust Stickles to the edges of the wings. I think this is a digital hybrid card?!

While I was on holiday I treated myself to a Macro Lens for my Nikon so I am also learning how to use this lens! All of the photographs here are taken with this lens & I am fairly pleased with the results!
{Ingredients}
Card Stock: SU! Whisper White & Bashful Blue
Stamps: HA Digital Flutterbies, Floral Papers & Friendship Definition
Ink: Epson Printer
Accessories: Photoshop, Star Dust Stickles, Foam Adhesive

I am off the the Post Office soon to pick up a parcel full of crafting goodies!! I have a little bit of college work to do then I shall be able to play with my goodies in between cooking tea which is beef curry!!

Thanks for stopping by!

Home Sweet Home!

Hello! I am home from our holiday to Orlando Florida :) I have been home 5 days now & time has gone steadily quick! It wasn't a happy return home as my Mum's cat Spike died a few days before we returned. It was a peaceful passing in his sleep but I am going to miss that lil fella as he was a lovely cat and was my Mum's so I feel I've lost another link. I am still a bit down but trying to carry on as normal.

The above picture is of Spike before we went away, he was very much a lap cat :) He was a very vocal cat & things are a lil quiet around the house. Mysterio seems to be OK but a lil more clingy that normal!

Anyway, I was back at college on Tuesday & have been sorting & unpacking and therefore haven't been very creative. I thought I would share my holiday buys. I was very disappointed that Michael's & Joann in Orlando had none of the NEW Hero Arts Stamps :(

I think my best bargains were the Martha Stewart Paper Punches I got from Walmart at $9 which is well over half price when converted to £. I also found a FAB art shop and stocked up on some more Copic Markers :)

I hope to have something creative to show you tomorrow or over the weekend as I have purchased a couple more Hero Arts Digital Kits. I am learning some more things to do with them to participate in this weeks HA Challenge 'Learning'!

Thanks for stopping by!
